Google Gives Gemini Agents A Mailbox, Calendar And Directory Seat

At its Gemini at Work event on October 8, Google Cloud announced “coworker agents” that each receive a Workspace account with email, calendar, Drive storage and a company directory listing, so colleagues can delegate work to them. The agents run persistently for up to seven days, can spawn sub-agents with scoped cryptographic identities, and are routed across Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude, with admins able to cap AI spend. Private preview is free for Gemini Enterprise customers; pricing and general availability were not announced. Early adopters include On, Shopify and PayPal.
